Event details

The 2022 MAER-Net Colloquium will be held at Kyoto University October 7-8, hosted by Satoshi Mizobata, Ichiro Iwasaki, Xinxin Ma and Masahiro Tokunaga. See flyer. Kyoto is a beautiful World Heritage Site, the ancient capital of Japan with many elegant temples and palaces. Kyoto remains Japan’s cultural capital.

Currently, there are some travel restrictions for entry into Japan. Because all of us are in 'Blue' countries, we can enter Japan without any quarantine restrictions. However, we need sponsorship from the University of Kyoto to obtain our visas. Hopefully, you have already been sent the instructions about how to register and to obtain your Visa to visit Japan.  We encourage you to do so quickly, by July 31, if at al possible.  First, please make hotel reservations (see Recommended Accommodations, below). Next, make a scanned copy of your passport and register online, https://forms.gle/2hX7i8mp5xKY7Loc7.  It is simple, but please follow the instructions fully.  After this, you will receive an invitation letter from the University of Kyoto to sponsor your business travel to the Colloquium.  After receiving this letter, you will need to contact the Japanese Embassy in your country to obtain a travel Visa.  Sorry, for this trouble, but it is necessary to enter Japan.  We are very grateful for the hard work and gracious hospitality of Professor Mizobata, Ms. Horible, Professor Iwasaki, and Kyoto University for making this research conference possible. We look forward to seeing you in Kyoto! For more information, contact Tom Stanley (Stanley@Hendrix.edu or tom.stanley1@deakin.edu.au) or Professor Iwasaki (iiwasaki@rj9.so-net.ne.jp).
